Jubail Island Investment Company (JIIC) has appointed Gulf Contractors Company (GCC) to prepare Jubail Island for construction, according to a recent statement. JIIC are the developers for the proposed mixed-use mega-project on Abu Dhabi’s Jubail Island, estimated at AED 5 billion.
GCC has been tasked with completing major earthworks and grading of the site by January 2020. These are necessary preliminary steps for the installation of infrastructure such as roads, utilities, and other facilities. Over 2.5 million cubic metres of material will be excavated and used to create the foundation for over 40km of roads and more than 800 residential properties, explained JIIC in the statement.
Jubail Island will include wildlife preservation areas and other conservation zones, with low-density community-style residential and commercial offerings. It will feature six investment zone villages: Marafaa Al Jubail, Nad Al Dhabi, Seef Al Jubail, Ain Al Maha, Souk Al Jubail and Bed’a Al Jubail. Freehold property will be available for both UAE nationals and foreign investors under Abu Dhabi’s new freehold ownership rules.
In Dubai, Arabtec Holding’s wholly-owned subsidiary Arabtec Construction was awarded the construction contract for 322 villas at Dubai Properties’ Amaranta project in Villanova, Dubailand. The contract works, worth an estimated AED 206 million, will take place over 20 months, according to a recent statement from Arabtec Construction.
The design of the façades for the townhouses are inspired by contemporary Mediterranean architecture, leading to spacious units with elegantly finished interiors and bright natural colours to compliment a relaxed lifestyle. The company was previously awarded a contract of AED 220 million by Dubai Properties for the construction of 352 villas for the same project in December 2018.
Villanova by Dubai properties is a residential community in Dubailand, located at the intersection of the Dubai – Al Ain Road and Emirates Road.
