Hotel operator Marriott International will open its first St. Regis branded property in Oman’s Al Mouj Muscat development, a partnership between the Government of Oman, UAE’s Majid Al Futtaim Properties and Oman National Investments Development Company (Tanmia).
The St. Regis Al Mouj Muscat Resort, which is currently under construction, will feature 271 rooms and 170 branded residences. It will also house corporate facilities, dining outlets, a VIP lounge, a business centre, a deluxe wellness centre and spa, a health club and a 1,100 sq m ballroom.
The beachfront property is expected to open in 2022 and will be the fourth hotel in the Al Mouj Muscat project, which is located along a 6 km coastline facing the Arabian Sea. The development already has 8,000 residents with over 2,200 homes complete and handed over. It also features a Greg Norman-designed 18-hole championship golf course and a marina.
“The signing of St. Regis in Oman is a natural progression for the brand’s portfolio, as the brand continues to become one of the most recognised and sought-after luxury hotel brands in the region,” said Alex Kyriakidis, president and managing director, Middle East & Africa, Marriott International.
