UAE Ranks 5th in KPMG’s 2019 Change Readiness Index

• The UAE is the only country in the MENA region within the top 10
• UAE ranks 5^th behind Switzerland, Singapore, Denmark and Sweden

The UAE is the fifth most change-ready country in the world, according to KPMG’s 2019 Change Readiness Index report, which ranks countries on their preparedness for change and their ability to respond to it. The UAE followed Switzerland, Singapore, Denmark and Sweden in this year’s rankings.

The index scores nations according to their performance across three parameters: enterprise, government, and people and civil society. The UAE was the only country among the GCC and MENA regions to have secured a place in the top 10 of the total 140 countries ranked.

The 2019 index focused on preparedness for climate change and nations’ capabilities to address and mitigate associated risks. In this regard, the UAE surpassed several other developed countries, including the US, the UK and Australia.
